It’s not a new thing (about a year) and it’s starting to go mainstream.

Basically it’s a small notification popup(with a message and click link set by you) that appears on the screen, while you have the browser open(and sometimes even when it’s closed if the browser runs in tray). Works on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and very soon Edge.

Facebook, Slack, ESPN and others use this to notify users and seems that CTR is a few times higher than email.

If this goes into the hands of affiliate marketers I see this highly abused 🙂 imagine getting daily notifications for all kind of offers… and many don’t know how to disable the ...
