How to Spy on your Ecommerce Competition

Competitive Research is the first step of affiliate campaigns, and it’s also the first step for Amazon and Ecommerce. You can’t do marketing, if you don’t know the market!
Here are some ways to find just about anything about your ecommerce competition, although I wrote this with Amazon in mind, it does also work for other kinds of ecommerce business.
Off Amazon:
1. Marketplace Pulse + SellerRatings.com (Find the Top Rating Sellers from Amazon or other marketplaces)
2. Manual Spy – Website, Email List, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Reddit, Pinterest
a. You can create a site map of the website, which will show you some URLs not easily found
b. Check if they’re using any tracking pixels/event tracking on their website. If they’re not, they’re probably not doing a lot off Amazon
c. Can sometimes find more information in their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
d. Wayback Machine – See the journey of the brand (or your favorite internet guru’s).
3. Google and Bing – first just search the brand name, but also search in combination with words like “Deal” “Giveaway” “Reviewer” “Product Tester” and “Amazon Services LLC Associates Program”
4. Buy the top products in your category – watch for their emails, if they retarget you on Facebook, the ...
